The stainless steel lid - what is it good for?
The stainless steel lid is a popular accessory for the stainless steel fire bowl. For fire bowl owners, the question arises - do I need the stainless steel lid? And if so, what functions does the lid perform?
Like all our fire bowls, the stainless steel lid is made of high-quality V2A stainless steel and is manufactured by Stahlkunst Edelstahl Manufaktur. The stainless steel lid weighs around 6 kilograms and therefore has a good weight - it cannot be knocked over in strong winds. The stainless steel lid also remains rust-free, corrosion-resistant and weatherproof and can therefore be left outside all year round in all weathers. For better handling, the edges of the lid are specially sanded in our factory so that it can be gripped easily. This means that the entire edge of the lid, the entire circumference, is "blunt" - to ensure a high level of safety during use.
Functions of the stainless steel lid for the fire bowl
The stainless steel lid offers very useful functions for your fire bowl. First of all, the stainless steel lid has a diameter of approx. 72 cm and therefore protrudes slightly from the Stahlkunst designer stainless steel fire bowl "Eccentric", for example. By completely covering the fire bowl, the stainless steel lid acts as rainwater protection so that no rainwater can collect in the fire bowl and the bowl remains permanently dry. This saves you having to tip the fire bowl over at the next campfire - and depending on the weather, the fire bowl can fill up with water after a few days and become so full that tipping it over can be a nuisance.
Another advantage of the stainless steel lid is that the bowl is permanently dry, making it easier to light firewood. If the fire bowl is wet and the firewood is lit in a wet environment, it may take a little longer to light the firewood. Furthermore, after a campfire when the embers are low, you can simply place the stainless steel lid on the fire bowl and allow the remaining embers to burn down in a "closed" environment. The advantage of this is that the ash then remains dry and can be used as a lighting aid the next time. Or you can use the ashes from the fire bowl directly as natural fertilizer and use them in the garden. This means you don't have to take the ashes out of the fire bowl every time - you can leave the ashes in the fire bowl until the fire bowl is "full" and you have collected enough ashes to process them in the garden or dispose of them in the garbage can in one go.
In addition to the advantages mentioned so far, we now come to another major advantage. The stainless steel lid makes it possible to use the beautiful Stahlkunst fire bowl as a table. As the lid covers the entire Stahlkunst fire bowl and is made of robust, strong stainless steel, the lid is ideally suited for this use. Equipped with a correspondingly high level of stability, you can simply place the lid on the fire bowl and then place any utensils such as bottles, glasses or plates on it. As the Stahlkunst fire bowl stands out not only for its high quality but also for its incomparably beautiful appearance, it is very practical to use the fire bowl as a lounge table. The "Eccentric" designer stainless steel fire bowl from our manufactory is 35 cm high, for example, making it ideal for use as a lounge table when seated. This means you can use the fire bowl not only as a stylish fire pit or elegant piece of garden furniture, but also as a beautiful lounge table. Many people have a dining table in the garden, but rarely a lounge table with a low height that you can reach quickly and easily when sitting/reclining. With the stainless steel lid, you can then use the fire bowl as the central lounge table or as an additional side table.
