In the world of cooking, there are few things as fascinating as the magic of an open fire. It is an element that has fascinated mankind since time immemorial, and not without reason. The heated flames, the crackling wood and the mesmerizing dance of the fire create an atmosphere that is both calming and exciting. But fire is not only an atmospheric magic, it is also a powerful tool - especially for baking.

Why should you choose to bake pizza & pastries on an open fire? The reasons are numerous and varied, starting with the unique taste that only fire can provide. The flames give the pizza a smoky, spicy flavor that can't be replicated by any other baking method. This unique note, combined with the crispy, perfectly baked crust, makes every pizza and pastry a delicious highlight. It is not for nothing that the best pizza bakers in the world still bake on an open wood fire - because this is the only way to get the incomparable taste of fire into the pizza. And even today, there are still traditional bakeries in many countries that bake their handmade baked goods in real wood-fired ovens rather than in electric ovens - because they believe that this is the only way to create the perfect crust with the perfect roasted flavors. But it's not just the taste that makes baking pizza & pastries over an open fire so special. It's also the experience itself - a mixture of tradition, community and adventure. Baking pizza around an open fire creates an atmosphere of togetherness, where friends and family come together to cook, eat and enjoy together. The crackling of the fire, the laughter of people and the smell of freshly baked pizza create an atmosphere that immediately welcomes every guest.

So there are many reasons to bake delicious pizzas & crispy pastry variations on an open fire. Not only the phenomenal taste is the goal, but also the way to get there. And so our Stahlkunst Manufaktur for the Stahlkunst fire bowl also offers the option of combining the atmospheric campfire evening with a "pizza party" - with the matching Stahlkunst pizza oven. The pizza oven from our manufactory is specially adapted to the fire bowl and works very simply - you place the pizza oven on the fire bowl and light a fire underneath. Within a few minutes, the pizza oven starts to heat up - depending on the size of the fire, the heat level is over 250 - 280 degrees after 10 minutes - it can rise further up to 350 - 400 degrees. An ideal temperature for baking pizzas or pastries. The pizza oven is specially designed so that the heat quickly reaches the oven chamber from below through the perforated plate, where the curved shape of the oven ensures ideal top and bottom heat. This means that not only the bottom of the pizza is baked, but also the top - and therefore also the topping of the pizza, which is very important. Other baked goods, such as bread, are baked in the same way. To gain experience, we recommend placing the first pizza in the pizza oven at around 250 degrees - this way you can watch the pizza baking in peace without burning it directly.

If you've never tried a pizza cooked on an open fire, then you're in for a surprise - the delicious roasted aromas from the fiery wood fire give pizzas & pastries an incomparable taste that far surpasses that from an electric oven. A culinary highlight where the focus is not only on the destination, but also on the journey itself - because it's not just about the really great taste of the baked results, but also about sitting around the fire with family and friends, enjoying a wonderful time together, laughing and having fun while you shape the dough together, top it and finally put the ready-to-bake pizza in the oven. An atmospheric experience, with a crowning culinary finale.
